The second trip offered through the Lamar University travel program was another sold out event! Forty-four alumni and friends of Lamar University enjoyed a spectacular river cruise aboard the stylish and modern MS Amadeus Brilliant. The group explored Amsterdam, a beguiling city of canals and contrasts and glimpsed the scenes Vermeer immortalized in the picture-perfect vistas of Delft.
Travelers visited the spectacular Keukenof gardens while the tulips were in full bloom and enjoyed the renowned Zeeland coast. In Belgium, they admired the amazing architecture and art of Bruges and the unrivaled charm of the important port city of Antwerp. The explorers enjoyed the Floriade and the entire amazing voyage in the company of their friends, old and new, and celebrated the connections they made through the Lamar University travel program.

The second trip of 2012 was a deluxe European Travel Tour for the Educated Traveler. Escorted tours allowed participants the pleasure of leaving their cares at home to enjoy stressless travel and focus on maximizing their travel experience. Intimate, behind-the-scenes, experiential, educational…unlike the Italy tours offered by others. Seven nights on the spectacular Amalfi Coast, exploring Campania, known as Italy’s breadbasket. The tour group visited a farm famous for the regional specialty, buffalo mozzarella and marveled at the breadth of Italy’s prodigious history. The group experienced five UNESCO World Heritage List sites: the Amalfi Coast; the historic city center of Naples; the archeological sites of Herculaneum and Pompeii; and the Greek ruins at Paestum. They then crossed the Gulf of Naples to spend a day on the enchanting Isle of Capri and admired the spectacular towns of Positano, Sorrento and Naples!
"We had a fantastic time and the program exceeded our expectations. Our campus director was very professional and made sure everyone was taken care of. I was impressed with her attention to detail, customer service, and knowledge of the area."—Charlie Busceme, Sour Lake, TX
